“Sea Space”, a sports and science event experienced by more than 1200 students

On 20 May 2011 during Ifremer's open house at the Mediterranean Centre, 150 primary and secondary schoolchildren gathered in Toulon and La Seyne-sur-mer during the closing meeting for the “Sea Space” project.

Introducing young people to the scientific method using marine sciences was the purpose of this educational project coordinated since October 2010 by the CNES (French National Space Agency), the French Research Institute for the Exploration of the Seas (Ifremer) and the French Research Institute for Development (IRD). In all, this project involved more than 1200 students.
