Research cruise to study sprawling Haploops colonies!

A team of four divers and two researchers will board the research vessel Thalia to conduct the PLOOPS cruise in Concarneau Bay (Brittany, France) from 10 to 16 August.

The objective of this cruise is to better understand the role Haploops play in the benthic ecosystem of this bay. Haploops are little-known small crustaceans that build tubes in which they live. These tube-dwellers cover thousands of hectares of the seabed off southern Brittany, where their populations appear to be expanding.
